It has been a while, but we are having another Super Happy Dev House here in Charleston! The fourth SuperHappyDevHouseCHS will happen Saturday, August, 27th at 1pm. We are repeating hosts and this time the dev house will be held at the BoomTown, http://www.boomtownroi.com/ , office located at 635 Rutledge on the corner of Huger. http://goo.gl/eoK5A Mark the event on your calendar!
The third SuperHappyDevHouseCHS will happen this Saturday at 1pm. The last two have been fun and full of different developers around Charleston. The last two locations, Jack Russell Software and Spark! Charleston, were great spots and I thank those guys for hosting. Each SuperHappyDevHouse in Charleston will be at a new spot in order to expose developers to all the great tech locations here in Charleston. It has been a while since the last SuperHappyDevHouse and some updates are due. First I'll briefly give a wrap-up to our first successful SuperHappyDevHouse. It took place at Jack Russell Software and over fifteen people showed up. There was some code written. Lots of discussion about different technologies took place. It seems everyone enjoyed the beer and food from the Charleston Beer Exchange and Papa Zuzus. It was a cool group of people. Thanks to Jack Russell Software for hosting!
The next SuperHappyDevHouse is going to happen on March 19th at 1pm. This one will be at a different location. The idea is to have the SuperHappyDevHouse hosted at a few of the technology companies around Charleston. Spark! has been kind enough to host the event. Spark! is a startup incubator located in downtown Charleston. They already have some cool startups working in their space like Visuallive. You have probably seen Visuallive's displays in Mellow Mushroom, Fuel, and Black Bean Co. This will be a great chance to check out Spark's location and get some coding in. The first Super Happy DevHouse in Charleston SC is a week away (January 22nd 2011)! This will be a great event for software developers and designers to get together to discuss technologies and actually hack on some code. The hope is that this event will occur every month or every six weeks.
This post is to give everyone the information they should need to get to the event and let you know what SHDH is all about.
Super Happy DevHouse is a 'hack day' event where developers and designers get together to work on an existing project, work on a new project, drink beer, talk technology, talk UX, or just get to know the tech crowd here in Charleston. There will be internet access, so bring your laptops or whatever device you prefer to develop software on. Food and drinks will be provided. However feel free to bring anything you might want and donations are appreciated.
The first location will be at the awesome, Ruby on Rails shop , Jack Russel Software. These guys are very active in the local tech community and have been so nice to let SHDH use their place. Here is how you get there, http://goo.gl/CGRaV .
You will need to enter their building in the back. I'll try to have signs out. However, if you find the jack russel sign, a dog, and go to the back of the parking lot you will see the entrance.
On January 22nd 2011, SHDH will start at 12pm and go 'until'.
